Huawei P40 is the latest Flagship Smartphone by Chinese technology giant, it is one of the three devices released under the higher-end P40 series. The smartphone comes with an amazingly attractive design that looks and feels premium from all aspects. It is built around an aluminium frame and has a glass back that comes with a matte finish. The triple camera setup is situated on the upper left corner of the smartphone's back.
Display
Huawei P40 features a bezel-less 6.3 Inches OLED display with 1080 x 2340 Pixels Resolution. It has an on-screen Fingerprint scanner for biometric security.
Software
The P40 runs Android 9.0 with EMUI 9.1 on top, it does not support Google Services and provides alternate Apps exclusively developed by Huawei.

Design
One of the most exciting things about the design is that Huawei has done a lot of hard work on the in-hand feel and comfort of the phone. Despite it being a 6.1 inches phone, the corners are perfectly rounded off, and the corners dont poke into the palms.
It really doesnt look radically different from its predecessor, however, the notable difference is the slightly bigger Camera array, with all the lenses housed in one bump. The back is glass, which feels quite premium in hands.
Another plus point for the build quality is that the Huawei P40 is IP53 water and dust resistant, which will help them survive the water dipping in case an accident occurs.
Display
Huawei P40 has a 6.1 Inches display with 2340 x 1080 pixels resolution. It has 90Hz Refresh Rate which is relatively higher than its predecessors the P30 series but less than the 120Hz displays that some flagships have now.
There is no notch in the P40 whatsoever, instead, there is a pill-shaped front camera cut-out on the top-left for selfies.
Another notable improvement is in the in-display fingerprint sensor. According to what Huawei claims, this time apparently it is 30% bigger, making it easier to use and 30% faster.
Camera
The Huawei P40 is set to offer a top-end camera. It has a 50MP Ultra Vision Wide main lens, 16MP Ultra-Wide shooter and an 8MP telephoto lens. Overall the camera is set to perform over the charts since Huawei is appreciated for making great camera phones, especially after the Mate30 series.
The telephoto lens is able to shoot up 3x optical, it is likely able to do more with a digital zoom like the Huawei P30.
Hardware
Huawei is using the Kirin990 5G chipset in the P40 series. It is quite an accomplished chipset as we have seen its performance in the Huawei Mate30. According to what Huawei claims, the Kirin990 5G Chipset will optimize the phone to drain less battery and power. The good part is that Kirin990 chipset means that the Huawei P40 will be 5G compatible. The chipset tagging along with the respectable 8GB RAM will provide a smooth and optimized experience.
Software
Huawei P40 runs on EMUI 10.1 software which is based on Android OS 10. Now comes the problematic part, the software doesnt include any popular apps like the Google PlayStore, Google Chrome or YouTube. It means you wont get the most popular apps easily. Huawei offers its very own Huawei App Gallery to get over this problem. Even though it has not a variety of apps like that on google Playstore but this will get better in the future. But currently, it is quite lacking.
Battery
The Huawei P40 sports a 3,800mAh. The battery is not what we see in todays flagships like Samsung Galaxy S20, but it is quite respectable. With the chipset that optimizes the phone to drain less power, we can expect some nice output of the battery life. Besides, it supports 22.5W charging, so topping it up really quick is easy. However, there is no wireless charging support.
