OnePlus Revamps its Branding with a New Logo inorder to Refresh the Digital Identity

OnePlus is now a major Smartphone maker that offers exciting new features in their high end devices to compete with other Flagship Smartphones by numerous manufacturers. The brand was established in 2013 and introduced its first device called the OnePlus One which was considered as a Flagship killer at that time. Since then, the company is consistent with their Flagship level introductions that too for significantly lower price tags.

The digital identity and logo of the brand remained the same since its inception, but now OnePlus has finally unveiled its new visual identity and logo which the company is calling the “most significant change to the OnePlus brand”. The company states that it had two goals with this new logo, to create a clearer association between the logo and the brand as well as increasing the legibility and visibility.

The elements in the new logo and branding are basically the same. The most noticeable changes in the logo are: the new “1” is curvilinear while the “+” in the surrounding box has become larger and more prominent. The "ONEPLUS" text in the new logo uses bolder fonts which are present across the entire text, and the red box has been removed in favor of a red font for the text itself.

The primary colors seen in the new logo are the same as the previous one, majorly consisting of red, black, and white. The font used in the new logo is new, called NHGforOnePlus. The new NHGforOnePlus font will be used for the company's logo as well as news on its website from now on. To commemorate the revised digital image, OnePlus also showed off some creative avatars based on the new logo on their Weibo post.

In a related news, The OnePlus 8 and the OnePlus 8 Pro are spotted on China's telecom regulator TENAA which pointed towards 5G support for both devices, that goes in line with the statement of OnePlus co-founder Pete Lau who said all the future Smartphones from OnePlus will be 5G compatible. The OnePlus 8 series is expected to be unveiled soon.
