There’s one iPhone that’s not too expensive, and it’s called the iPhone SE. People like it because it’s a simple, small phone.
The new iPhone SE, called iPhone SE 4 (it’s the fourth one, but Apple just calls them all “iPhone SE”), is said to be a big update from the older versions. But there’s some not-so-good news too. We don’t know when it will come out, and we might not see it until 2025. Here’s what we know up to now.
When Will iPhone SE 4 Come Out? Right now, we don’t know when the iPhone SE 4 will be released. One expert, Jeff Pu, thinks it will be in 2025. Another expert, Ming-Chi Kuo, said in February that it might come out in the first half of 2024.
Apple released the first iPhone SE in 2016, and then they made better ones in 2020 and 2022. This might mean that they will release a new one every two years, so the next one could be in 2024.
If it does come out in 2025, one reason might be because it has a new 5G modem that Apple made, instead of the one from Qualcomm that’s in the iPhone SE 3.
What Will iPhone SE 4 Look Like? This is a big deal. The current iPhone SE looks different from the new ones, with big borders at the top and bottom and a small 4.7-inch screen.
Now, some reports say the new iPhone SE 4 will be like a slightly changed iPhone 14, with a 6.1-inch screen and a notch at the top. This could make some people want to buy it because it will look like a modern iPhone and have a lot more screen space.
The iPhone SE 4 might also have a USB-C port, like other new iPhones, because the European Union wants all phone makers to use the same charger.
There’s a rumor that’s harder to believe, saying the iPhone SE 4 will have an Action Button instead of the mute switch on the side. Only the iPhone 15 Pro has that feature, so it’s not clear if the iPhone SE 4 will have it, at least not in early 2024.
Colors are important too. The current iPhone SE comes in three colors: Starlight, Midnight, and PRODUCT(RED). The iPhone 14 has six colors: Starlight, Midnight, PRODUCT(RED), Blue, Purple, and Yellow. Maybe the iPhone SE 4 will have some of these colors too.
