OPPO To Introduce Smartwatches, Smart Wireless Headphones and 5G Hub, Investing $7 Billion in Research and Development

Chinese smartphone manufacturer OPPO has announced that it is going to pump $7 billion in research and development of a wide range of 5G enabled products, it is going to develop core hardware and software technologies to seize most of the 5G technology along with Artificial Intelligence (AI), augmented reality (AR), Big Data, and several other emerging technologies.

OPPO is all set to build a 5G ecosystem comprising of AI smart products such as wireless earbuds, Smartwatches, AR glasses, 5G routers and a bunch of other products that are interconnected with the core technology and software. The company plans to take human machine interaction to a next level and incorporate the 5G technology in everyday tasks to make them more efficient.

Few of the aforementioned devices will be unveiled in the first quarter of next year. According to the company officials, OPPO will remain committed to core technology R&D to develop world-leading technology, build a multi-portal ecosystem of intelligent devices with smartphones being the key gateway that connects all the devices. The company is keen to diversify its portfolio with a range of interconnected devices.
