Apple is rumored to be partnering with Volkswagen to make self driving shuttles

Apple has tried to struck a deal with BMW and then Mercedes for its self driving shuttle cars project but failed because both companies did not agreed upon giving the control over the design of project to Apple but now reports are emerging that Volkswagen has agreed upon becoming a partner with Apple on this vigorous and trend setting self driving car project.
Apple and Volkswagen are partnering to make Apples existing shuttle vehicle T6 transporter van into self driving shuttle for its employees.

Apples car division which is code named Project Titan was established an year ago aimed at making hardware and software for the automated self driving cars, but then it shifted its focus to develop shuttle service known as PAIL an abbreviation of Palo Alto to Infinite Loop (infinite loop was the name of the street on which companys Main Campus was situated). Now it is reported that Volkswagen is providing the vehicles to Apple.

Currently Apples prototype self driving cars can be seen around Palo Alto. The company already has some autonomous vehicles on ground, it has a fleet of Lexus RX450h SUVs for testing purposes.

In august last year Apples CEO Tim Cook stated that his companys work in autonomous systems could be used in a variety of ways and in many different areas, suggesting that Apple may have some big plans in the robotics or artificial intelligence.
