Special edition smartphones have become a popular way of marketing and now getting attention of a more people. Partnerships for launching special editions helps the brand to reach a broader range of people while the phone maker extends the smartphone’s shelf life with just a minor changes.
Now leading smartphone brand, Honor has announced that it has partnered with Aape to launch a special edition of Honor 20i called Honor 20i Aape Edition.
The announcement came just a day after the Honor 20i was made available for pre orders in China. The phone is scheduled to go official on 17th of April. It's not clear what changes have been made in the special edition that differs it from the standard version.
Getting into the specifications of the Honor 20i, it will be featuring a 6.21 inch IPS LCD display with a water drop notch. The screen will support Full HD+ resolution and 19.5:9 aspect ratio. It will offer more than 90 percent screen to body ratio.
The company’s own Kirin 710 octa core chipset will be powering the smartphone sitting under the hood. Honor 20i will come in three variants in terms of memory configurations, 4GB RAM + 128GB storage, 6GB RAM + 64GB storage and 6GB RAM + 256GB storage.
In terms of camera, the phone will feature a 32 MP front camera with AI selfie beautification features. There will be a triple camera setup on the rear that will include a 24MP primary sensor with f/1.8 aperture, an 8MP wide-angle lens and a 2MP depth sensor. The device will also have a rear mounted fingerprint scanner.
In terms of software, the smartphone will be running Android 9 Pie operating system with the company’s custom EMUI 9.0.1 UI on top. The phone will also come with support for Game Turbo 2.0. The Honor 20i will get fuel by a 3,400mAh battery with support for 10W charging.
