Huawei is finalizing Google Services Alternatives, the next Huawei and Honor smartphones may launch with HMS instead of GMS

The Trade ban that was put by U.S on Chinese tech giant Huawei has influenced its strategy, movement and planning heavily. One of the outcomes of the ban is that Huawei is no longer allowed to use Google Mobile Services (GMS) in their upcoming smartphones for which the company had to find an alternative, and it seems like the chinese smartphone manufacturer has overcome this problem by developing its own Mobile Services.

Android is an open source platform thus anyone can use it in their device with supporting hardware, but due to the ban that U.S trade and commerce Department enforced on Huawei in May 2019, the company will not get the basic Google Mobile Services such as Youtube, Play Store, Maps, Gmail, Gdrive, Messaging and Payments. The company's country chief for India "Charles Peng" recently announced at an event that the GMS alternative will be ready by the end of this year.

CEO of Huawei and Honor India, Charles Peng, said that Honor has been developing Apps as part of Google's GMS alternative with the help of Indian developers to ensure their availability on the company's own app store in the next year. Huawei has confirmed officially that the alternatives for navigation, payments, gaming, and messages will be ready by the end of December this year. The company has set up a $1 billion fund to develop its own alternative to GMS.

The Chinese smartphone giant is optimistic about its future and has a lot of new smartphones in the pipeline. There is a vast number of Apps in Google's App ecosystem which is a task in itself for Huawei to replicate. Google Play Games, Google Maps, Gmail, Google Pay, YouTube, and the Google Play Store are the basic Apps that every Android user needs to perform their day to day tasks. Huawei is forced to develop a complete ecosystem to keep their customers intact.

The company claims that even without Google Services, it aims to become the World's number 1 smartphone vendor by the end of 2020. Huawei is offering heavy incentives to the Indian developers for integrating their Apps with Huawei Mobile Services. It is in talks with India's 150 top Apps to get them on Huawei's App Gallery which the company aims to present as the Play Store alternative.
