Huawei Nova 5 series is now official. The Chinese technology giant unveiled the series at a press event in China. The Nova 5 series includes 3 devices, Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro, and Nova 5i. Smartphones will be released in China initially.
The company also unveiled the Kirin 810 SoC for the first time that powers the Huawei Nova 5. The SoC is Based on the 7nm manufacturing process and packs two Cortex A76 cores clocked at 2.27GHz and six Cortex A55 cores clocked at 1.88GHz, paired with Mali G52 GPU.
In terms of design, Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro sports a water drop notch, glass back panel with 3D lighting effect, curved edges and boasts a slim body. On the other hand, Nova 5i comes with a hole punch selfie camera with plastic body.
Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro will come with 6.39 inches Full HD+ screen and uses an OLED display. They offer an in display fingerprint sensor. The Nova 5 series that includes the Huawei Nova 5, Nova 5 Pro and Nova 5i, are powered by Kirin 810, 980 and 710 processors respectively.
The Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro comes with a quad camera setup on the rear, comprising a 48MP main camera, 16MP ultra wide lens, 2MP depth sensor and 2MP macro camera. The front camera is housed inside the water drop notch and has a 32MP sensor.
The Nova 5i has slightly different specifications in the camera department, it has a punch hole camera in the display and the quad camera on the rear is of slightly lower specs then its siblings, it comprises of a 24MP main camera, 8MP ultra wide snapper, 2MP macro lens and a 2MP depth sensor.
The Nova 5 and Nova 5 Pro are also said to be fuelled by a 3,500mAh battery with 40w fast charging. While the Nova 5i will house a 4,000mAh battery. The Huawei Nova 5 series will run on Android 9 Pie with Huawei's EMUI 9 on top.
Huawei Nova 5i and Nova 5 Pro will be available for pre sale from 28th of June while the Nova 5 will be available for pre order from 13th of July and will hit the stores on the 20th. The Nova 5 Pro will arrive in Bright Black, Midsummer Purple, Coral Orange, and Forest Green color options.

At the occasion of Nova 5 series launch event, Huawei also revealed that it has shipped 100 million smartphones this year until May 30.
