Apple releases new iPhone models every fall, and 2022 will be no exception. Four new iPhones with screen sizes of 6.1 and 6.7 inches are on the way. The iPhone 14 and iPhone 14 Max are the ordinary, more cheap editions of the remaining two iPhones, while the iPhone 14 Pro and iPhone 14 Pro Max are the higher-end "Pro" models.
Since Apple has set September 7 as the date for its September event, everyone anticipates an early September debut for the iPhone 14 series. With the event's "Far Out" tagline a probable design that differs noticeably from the iPhone 13 Pro, Apple's iPhone 14 Pro is expected to be the device that shakes up the iPhone lineup.
Here’s everything we know about the iPhone 14 lineup so far:
Design
The iPhone 14 Pro variants will have two display cuts rather than a notch. The Face ID dot projector and other Face ID parts will be housed in a pill-shaped cutout, and the front-facing camera will be located in a separate circular cutout. The regular notch is anticipated to remain on the non-Pro variants. Although these are two separate cutouts, expected to blend with software to seem like one long cutout in the shape of a pill.
Display
The 120Hz ProMotion display technology will be supported by the two iPhone 14 Pro versions. Speculations indicate that ProMotion will probably still only be available on more premium iPhone models. Although several rumors claimed that all iPhone 14 versions would get 120Hz refresh rates
Camera
The iPhone 14 Pro models will receive several camera upgrades. A 48-megapixel camera and 8K video recording capabilities are expected by Apple. Additionally, the telephoto lens might get some upgrades, and a better Ultra Wide camera might appear. The LiDAR Scanner, the 48-megapixel Wide camera, and the upgraded telephoto lenses will all remain Pro-only features. All models could get a better lens with a wider aperture and focusing features for the front-facing camera.
Hardware
According to reports, the non-Pro variants of the iPhone 14 will continue to use the A15 chip, seen in the current iPhone 13 lineup, while the Pro models may receive an improved A16 chip. If it does, it will be the first time Apple has equipped a Pro iPhone model with a speedier chip.
Connectivity
The Snapdragon X65 5G chip from Qualcomm, the first 10-gigabit 5G modem with better connectivity rates and connectivity enhancements, is anticipated to be used by Apple. Apple is anticipated to release new satellite-based emergency features alongside the X65 that will enable customers to communicate in an emergency and report accidents without cellular connectivity.
Launch Date
On September 7, Apple will have a "Far Out" event where the new iPhone 14 variants are expected to be officially unveiled.
Expected Price
The iPhone 14 Pro could start at $1,099 and the iPhone 14 Pro Max could start at $1,199 if prices increase by about 10%. However, specific pricing for the iPhone 14 lineup is unknown. Improvements to the Series 8 Apple Watch and the AirPods Pro are also anticipated to be held at the event.
