Motorola has launched a cheaper version of Moto E5 Play named, Moto E5 Play Go edition. As the name suggests the phone is an Android Go phone based on Oreo, That allows the OS to run on ultra low end hardware.
Instead of a 5.2 inch display with 16:9 aspect ratio in the original Moto E5 Play, the new Moto E5 Play variant sports a 5.3 inch display with 18:9 aspect ratio. The two smartphones have a similar basic design, including the rear mounted fingerprint sensor underneath the Moto logo. This variant sports the same 8MP rear camera and a 5MP front camera with flash.
The original Moto E5 Play model comes with 2GB of RAM, the Android Go model could come with 1GB RAM as that is the limit for Android Go handsets.
Anyway, the rest of the specs are mostly the same with Snapdragon 425 processor, 16GB of storage which is expandable upto 128GB via Sdcard.
Moto does promise a water repellent design that safeguards the phone inside and out. The phone will likely have same battery as E5 Play that's 2,800 mAh.
As far as the price is concerned Moto E5 Play Go edition will be available for ‚¬109 (Approximately Rs. 15,500 in Pakistan). The device is expected to ship in Black, Dark Lake and Flash Gray colors.
