Chinese smartphone maker Xiaomi has recently announced that it is making its former sub brand a completely independent business. The Poco brand was established over a year ago, but since its inception, the brand only introduced a single smartphone called Poco F1. It was critically well received but even after some rumours and speculations the brand didn't introduced its sequel. After the announcement of Poco becoming a separate entity, analysts believed that now it will introduce a successor to its well received Poco F1.
The former Xiaomi sub brand has now announced that it is going to launch a smartphone called Poco X2. The company made this announcement on their official Twitter handle and stated that the device will make debut on 4th of February. It is unclear that Poco X2 is a continuation of Poco F1 or it is going to be a separate line. While none of its specifications and details are available at the moment, except that the device will feature a 120Hz display, a side mounted Fingerprint scanner, USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack as confirmed by XDA Developer Editor in Chief.
The other expected specifications of the Poco X2 are based on rumours that it is going to be a rebranded version of Redmi K30 4G variant which is powered by the Snapdragon 730G SOC and sports 6.7-inch full HD+ display with dual hole-punch selfie cameras and 20:9 aspect ratio. The selfie camera setup on the Redmi K30 comprises of a 20MP and 2MP image sensors. It comes with a quad rear camera setup consisting of 64MP + 2MP + 2MP + 8MP sensors. It comes with a 4,500mAh battery with 27W fast charging support. These all are speculations right now, so we have to wait for the 4th of February in order to confirm the specs of Poco X2.
