Usually developers are using Chrome OS machine and turn them into Linux-based developer machines by using Crouton. Which was a bit hectic but it worked. As technology is getting better and easier day by day Chrome is also coming with a big upgrade and now you can use Debain GNU / Linux apps on your chrome OS machine with just a toggle switch in setting menu.
This will not going to be beneficial for regular user but definitely this will make Chrome OS machines attractive to developers. The Company is planning to roll out this feature soon.
