Samsung launched three flagship smartphones in the Galaxy S10 series this year. The Galaxy S10e, which is compact and most affordable then the rest, is undoubtedly the most interesting one because of its hefty features and significantly cheaper price tag.
We will try to cover every basic aspect of the device in the in depth review below.
Design:
Galaxy S10e features a metal frame with rounded corners making it easier to grip. The frame is sandwiched between front and back glass. There is a hole punch camera at the top right. While on the back, top half contains the horizontally placed dual cameras with an LED flash. The Galaxy S10e is a smaller and compact phone. The smartphone officially comes in four colors, Prism Black, The Prism White, Prism Blue, and Flamingo Pink.
Display:
The S10e has a 5.8 inch screen and uses Samsung’s new Dynamic AMOLED display technology with a resolution of 1080 x 2280 pixels, and 19:9 aspect ratio. The phone is HDR10+ certified which provides incredible color accuracy. The screen also reduces blue light exposure by 42 percent, a feature certified by TÜV Rheinland, developed by an independent product testing company.
Hardware and Performance:
The Galaxy S10e is powered by the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 processor, the flagship chipset that powers most high end Android phones this year including larger siblings of S10e. There are two memory variants of S10e, 6GB RAM with 128GB internal storage and 8GB RAM with 256GB internal storage while memory card slot is available for adding even more room to cater your memory needs. To complement the hardware the device runs on Samsung’s new One UI interface layered over Android 9 Pie, the latest version of Android.
Camera:
The Galaxy S10e only has two rear facing cameras. There's a 12MP wide angle camera and a 16MP ultra wide camera for times when you want to fit more of everything into an image. It lacks the telephoto camera as compared to its bigger siblings but you still have AI powered portrait mode which works fine. The S10e camera comes loaded with features such as 4K video recording, ultra slow motion video recording at 960fps, AR emojis, Instagram mode, and the ability to record ultra wide angle videos. While on the front, you get a 10MP selfie camera with support for 4K UHD video recording, and there is auto focus as well.
Battery and Pricing:
Speaking about the battery, the S10e packs a 3,100mAh unit, which is enough to get through the day to day needs. Recharging is quick with up to 15W fast charging and 15W wireless charging.
The Samsung Galaxy S10e costs $750 (Approx Rs. 100,000 in Pakistan). It is available for purchase now at carriers and retailers globally.
Verdict:
If you are looking for a small and compact flagship phone that performs well and has great cameras, then go for the Galaxy S10e. It packs all the blitz of a flagship and comes well below in price from its pricey siblings. The device will surely give you a great value for money and a good flagship experience.
