WhatsApp finally brings call waiting feature for Android users with the latest update

Facebook owned instant messaging App whatsApp gets an update for the Android users. The update brings highly anticipated feature of call waiting. The latest WhatsApp app, version 2.19.352 and above, allows the users to select an option between an incoming call or an ongoing call to put the call on waiting. The feature is not a hold options as two calls cannot be connected at the same line in WhatsApp.

When the users are already in a call, rather than automatically disconnecting the second incoming WhatsApp call, users will now get a pop up alert and can choose to either decline it, or disconnect the ongoing WhatsApp call to accept the other one or put the incoming call waiting. The feature is highly useful for WhatsApp users. The latest WhatsApp update for both the beta as well as stable Android channels brings the call waiting feature.

Users can update their WhatsApp from Playstore and bring the call waiting feature in their App. The updated version's changelog also mentions the addition of enhanced group privacy settings and more secure fingerprint unlock support for the app. The stable App update is now available for all the Android users while the Beta users can also avail the features in build version 2.19.357 and 2.19.358 of the beta app.

The incoming call UI in WhatsApp now shows a green ‘End & Accept' button along with the ‘Decline' button. If you press the red ‘Decline' button, the incoming call will be cancelled and you can keep on with the ongoing call. While if you tap on the ‘End & Accept' button, the ongoing call will be disconnected and the incoming call will be connected.

The call waiting feature has been already added in iPhones by WhatsApp that was rolled out in late November with WhatsApp v2.19.120 for iOS. The version also included a redesigned Chat screen, as well as the ability to quickly send messages directly from the Braille keyboard when using VoiceOver mode.
