Xiaomi is bringing an update to its Mi Mix 2S  and Mi 8 smartphones. The phones are getting much anticipated Night Scene feature in this latest MIUI 8.1.1.8 software update. The feature was present in the flagship Xiaomi Mi Mix 3.

The update shifts the build version to MIUI 8.11.8 and brings enhanced low light mode through a Night Scene like feature which employs AI algorithms to make low light noisy pictures more smooth and lively.

This will be a significant update to the camera unit on the Mi Mix 2S and Mi 8 since the Mi Mix 3 uses the same camera configuration as that of its older flagships. Other than Night Scene, the update also bring an enhanced low light mode which will probably work in a similar manner.

Aside from the enhanced low light mode, which should improve low light performance quite a bit, the newest update also includes some other minor improvements and bug fixes. The update is currently being rolled out for users on the MIUI Chinese ROM and will soon be available globally.
