Xiaomis new Mi 8 closely mimics the iPhone X

Xiaomi has a reputation of deriving their success from the cloning of Apple devices and one of their latest models, Mi 8 has been labeled an iPhone X ripoff. Xiaomi has unveiled the worlds best Android-based iPhone X clone. The Mi 8 Explorer Edition is the most expensive version of the Mi 8 family, and the only Android phone to have a notch exactly like the iPhone X. Xiaomi has replicated the look of the rear of the iPhone X as well as the front “ also adding in very similar-looking wallpaper. The company has in the past dismissed all accusations of copying Apple, claiming back in 2014 that it was all just coincidence. If you have two similarly skilled designers, it makes sense that they would reach the same conclusion, he argues. It doesnt matter if somebody else has reached the same conclusion.

Lets check some of the technical specs now; The Mi 8 has a 6.2 inch AMOLED display running a Full HD+ resolution (2248×1080 to be exact). Talking about performance specs, its powered by Qualcomms Snapdragon 846 chipset along with 6 GB RAM and storage options of 64/128/256 GB. The phone carries a dual camera setup on the back, with one lens of 12-MP with f/1.8 and a second optical zoom lens with f/2.4 aperture. Like the iPhone X, the front camera is placed in the notch. The front camera boasts a resolution of 20 MP.

The Mi 8 will initially be on sale only in Xiaomis home market of China, where the company will be hoping that the combination of iPhone X design and decent Android specs will make it an appealing prospect for consumers who cant afford the real thing.
