While Samsung appears determined to leak every detail of its upcoming Galaxy Note 9, it seems Apple is not far behind. Having already leaked a major iPhone upgrade in a recent beta of iOS 12.
iOS 12 beta 5 hides code which reveals Apples huge 6.5 inch iPhone X Plus. Previous leaks have strongly suggested the iPhone X Plus will have a native screen resolution of 2688 x 1242 pixels (higher than any previous iPhone).
Apples Xcode iOS Simulator run iOS 12 beta 5 at 2688 x 1242 and this unlocked secret landscape modes and new interfaces for many core Apple iPhone apps.
Apple is using landscape modes for apps like Contacts and Calendar on iPhone Plus models, but this was not extended to the 5.8 inch iPhone X most likely due to its notch.
Interestingly, Apples iPhone 9 a budget friendly 6.1 inch iPhone doesnt get this landscape function. So Apples decision to limit landscape functionality to the iPhone X Plus is likely to be a part of the companys plan to upsell users to the bigger and more expensive device.
Apple's 2018 iPhones will make their official debut in September this year. Lets see what Apple brings out this year after becoming the America's first Trillion Dollar Company.
