Apple today officially announced a new iPod Touch with A10 fusion chip which was used in iPhone 7. The new iPod Touch supports group FaceTime chats and has improved augmented reality capabilities. Apart from that, there are no other major changes in the updated iPod Touch device.
Apple’s new iPod Touch offers a 4 inch LCD screen with 1,136 x 640 pixel resolution instead of a large OLED screen, it has a 3.5mm port. While there no cellular connectivity or biometric authentication. However, it houses a physical home button.
In the camera department it boasts a 1.2MP selfie shooter and an 8MP rear camera. The A10 chip provides better gaming and better iOS performance. This is the first time Apple has launched an updated iPod Touch since 2015.
The new iPod Touch will be available from today. It costs $199 for the 32GB memory variant, $299 for the 128GB variant and $399 for the 256GB variant. It will be available in space gray, white, gold, blue, pink and red color options.
The new iPod Touch can be booked from apple.com and through the official Apple Store app from today. The device will be coming to all the Apple stores worldwide later this week.
