Chinese automobile manufacturer JAC Motors plans to introduce electric vehicles in Pakistan

David Zhang Deputy Chief Economic Manager of Chinese State owned automobile manufacturer JAC Motors confirmed that they are planning to enter Pakistans automobile market by introducing electric cars here in near future.

Pakistan is a rapidly growing economy and after the updated Auto Policy, international automotive companies have shown keen interest in the countrys automobile market. The local consumer demands better, safe and economic vehicles.

JAC Motors started exporting its vehicles back in 1990 to Bolivia and since then the company has subsequently sold cars in over a hundred countries.

David Zhang stated that his company is already exporting its light and mini trucks to Pakistan and it has also set up a factory to manufacture these trucks locally.

The performance of our products in the local market has been very good and we will expand our lines of production from medium to heavy-duty trucks in near future, he added.

The official also said that both China and Pakistan have friendly relations, they are also strategic partners and the businessmen of the two countries have a very good potential to work together.

He pointed out that the cost of the electric cars has decreased a lot in recent years and it has become an economically viable for the middle class, adding, With more improvement in the economy and fundamental structure ready, we will have an opportunity to take our electric car into Pakistani market.
