The latest blow to the Chinese smartphone manufacturer Huawei comes from the Social Media Giant Facebook. After the US ban many companies have cut ties with the company. Now in the latest development around the issue, Facebook has suspended the pre installing of Facebook, Messenger, WhatsApp and Instagram in the upcoming Huawei devices.
Existing users who are already using Huawei phones will still be able to use the Facebook apps and receive frequent updates, but new Huawei phones will no longer have Facebook, WhatsApp, Messenger and Instagram apps pre-installed.
The social media giant with over 3 billion users all over the world, said that the step was taken after US President Donald Trump’s order barring Huawei from US technology exports over allegations that the company works with Chinese intelligence.
The first major setback for Huawei amid US ban was Google's decision to leave Huawei without the Play Store, the marketplace for most Android apps, and other elements of the mobile operating system. Huawei is currently considering the most suitable alternatives to the Google services.
The move by Facebook might further isolate Huawei. The company had become the world’s second largest smartphone vendor prior to US ban. Its future sales are expected to drop significantly after the current series of events that are taking place due to the US ban.
