At IFA 2018, Huawei unveiled EMUI 9 based on Android 9 Pie and announced the beta program. EMUI 9 beta is available for the Huawei Mate 10, Mate 10 Pro, Huawei P20, P20 Pro, Honor 10, Honor View 10, and Honor Play.

The update brings a more crisp user interface with an updated design. Theres also going to be a new gesture based navigation system, but isnt yet available in the beta version. Furthermore, Huawei has implemented their own version of Googles Digital Wellbeing with built in parental control and usage monitor. EMUI 9 will also test out GPU Turbo 2.0, that promises a smoother and smarter gameplay experience.

 

Only these Huawei and Honor devices are eligible for participation in the companys EMUI 9 beta program in Europe:

- Huawei Mate 10 - Huawei Mate 10 Pro - Huawei P20 - Huawei P20 Pro - Honor 10 - Honor View 10 - Honor Play

If you own any of these devices, heres how to sign up for the beta:

- Go to Huaweis Friendly User Test (FUT) website. - Download the beta app. - Sign up for an account if you havent already. - Go to Personal “> Join project. - Find the EMUI 9 beta program and sign up.

The stability of the beta software is not guaranteed, as it often contains bugs which the company fixes before a stable launch.
