HMD Global was expected to take wraps off from various phones at the MWC 2020 going to held in Barcelona, but the event got cancelled due to the ongoing Coronavirus threat which emerged from China and has now reached to almost every corner of the world including Europe, America, Australia. One of the phones that were going to launch at the cancelled Mobile World Congress is Nokia TA-1212, a feature phone certified by TENAA recently but the images of the device were not available back then.
Now, some images of the upcoming Nokia TA-1212 have been released by TENAA and looking at the images, one can instantly remember the classic Nokia phone XpressMusic. The XpressMusic series of Nokia was a highly popular and in demand series among youth of previous decade, the first Nokia XpressMusic was launched back in 2006 and became an instant hit. After seeing the design of Nokia TA-1212, one can recognize the similar red accent side edges where the volume rockers and power button should sit as in XpressMusic 5310.
Nokia TA-1212 is going to be a feature phone and the device features an alphanumeric keyboard as well as a Candybar form factor just like the XpressMusic. In terms of specifications, the device features a 2.4 inch TFT LCD screen with 340 x 320 pixels resolution. It weighs just 88g with a dimension of 123.75 x 52.43 x 13.1mm. It will be powered by a single core processor clocked at 0.36GHz paired with 0.8MB of RAM and 16MB of native storage expandable up to 32GB via an external MicroSD card.
Nokia TA-1212 also packs a 0.3MP camera on the back accompanied by an LED flash. The new device will most likely run S30+ OS judging by the base specifications and Nokia's previous record. The XpressMusic 5310 lookalike phone by Nokia will be fuelled by a 1200mAh battery. However, the official name of Nokia TA-1212 has not been revealed yet and it will be interesting to see if it comes with a different name or reference it to the original XpressMusic series. The device will only be available in a single color option which is Dark Gray with a red accent on the side.
