In December last year, Motorola announced that it is delaying the official launch of its first foldable smartphone called Motorola Razr, the decision was made due to supply predictions because the company wants to meet consumer demand for their $1,500 foldable flip smartphone. Lenovo owned smartphone manufacturer clarified that the delay is not due to any technical difficulty. The device was previously named Motorola Razr 2019 but it may change upon the official launch.
Now, ahead of the smartphones official launch, Lenovo's Mobile Head in China has shared photos of the Motorola Razr retail box along with some key specifications on his official Weibo Page. The box of Moto Razr has a stunning unique design, unlike other smartphone boxes it is triangular in shape. The fancy triangular prism is entirely black from two sides while on the top there is Motorola Logo. Other sides of the box are not revealed in the images.
The particular variant of the Moto Razr is labelled an 'XT2000-2 moto razr' on the box. The device is likely to be unfolded inside unlike the Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X. It will have a 6.2 inch flexible OLED HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 21:9. The smartphone will also have a secondary 2.7 inch Quick View display that will show notifications, battery, clock etc which makes it completely different from the foldable smartphones available at the moment.
Moto Razr will be powered by Snapdragon 710 processor paired with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. There will be a single 16MP camera which has been confirmed by the company. Executive vice president of Lenovo Group and president of China, revealed in a media interview during CES 2020 that the folding screen Motorola phone may be released in the Chinese market at the end of the second quarter of this year, while there is no word on the global launch of the smartphone.
