OnePlus is all set to unveil the OnePlus 8 series soon, the lineup is expected to consist of three devices named, OnePlus 8, OnePlus 8 Pro and OnePlus 8 Lite. The CEO of OnePlus Pete Lau revealed ahead of the launch event that the company is all in for 5G, so we can expect to see the whole OnePlus 8 series to have 5G support. OnePlus was one of the first Smartphone manufacturers to launch a 5G phone last year which was the OnePlus 7 Pro. It was also the most expensive device from OnePlus till date costing $800.

Now, the CEO Pete Lau himself suggests that prices for the OnePlus 8 series may climb up but assured the fans and users that it won’t surpass $1,000. The new OnePlus 8 series phones will come equipped with Qualcomm’s latest flagship SoC, the Snapdragon 865 which will be paired by the Snapdragon X55 modem, that assures that the OnePlus 8-series will support 5G connectivity.

The OnePlus CEO said that the OnePlus 8 phones will be more expensive because of that 5G connectivity, but also assured that they won’t be as costly as the Galaxy S20, as OnePlus 8 Series is expected to compete with Samsung Galaxy 20 series. OnePlus 8 smartphones are expected to arrive sometime in April this year.

Not much information is available regarding the upcoming OnePlus flagships. According to some insider information, OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro will both have a Snapdragon 865 chipset with X55 modem. The Pro version will have up to 12GB of RAM and a 120Hz refresh-rate display, while the standard variant will remain at 90Hz.
