After getting a backlash for faulty displays from test units given to journalists and bloggers in February, Samsung hold the release for the much awaited Folding Smartphone called Galaxy Fold. Samsung hoped to address the issues and launch the device in April, then it was postponed. Finally Samsung started taking Preorders for smartphones in May after claiming that it has addressed all the issues.
Samsung was all set to release the device on September 27th in U.S but suddenly it has cancelled all the preorders and deposited a sum of $250 in the store credit for the users who ordered the smartphone. While the new release date for U.S has not been announced but Samsung says, it is taking time to rethink the customer experience.
The Korean technology giant statedh in the official statement:
"Ensuring that you have the best possible experience with this revolutionary new technology is our top priority. We are taking the time to rethink the entire customer experience—from purchase to unboxing, to post-purchase service—so in the meantime, we have, regrettably, decided to cancel your existing pre-order. While not an easy decision to make, we believe that this is the right thing to do."

Samsung has not announced when the pre orders will reopen but it is interesting to note that the device was released in South Korea on September 6, and pre orders were not canceled there, and we have no official word on them getting canceled in the UK, where it is scheduled to launch on September 18.
