Samsung announced at the end of last year that it is going to introduce entry level smartphones in early 2020 under the A series. Now Samsung has officially launched the affordable Galaxy A01 which looks like the first of many more to come. The smartphone is built around a 5.7 inch IPS display that comes with 720 x 1560 Pixels resolution and is protected by Gorilla Glass.
Galaxy A01 is powered by Snapdragon 439 Octa Core paired with 2GB of RAM and 16GB of internal storage expandable via an external MicroSD card. The smartphone comes preloaded with Android 10 OS with Samsung's OneUI 2.0 skin on top. The device measures 146.3 x 70.1 x 8.3 mm which makes it quite handy and pocket friendly.
In terms of camera, the smartphone comes equipped with Dual rear camera setup on the back comprising of a 13MP 28mm wide angle lens with f/2.2 aperture and a 2 MP depth sensor with f/2.4 aperture, an LED Flash is also present beneath the cameras. On the front, there is a 5MP camera for selfies housed inside the water drop notch.
The Samsung Galaxy A01 is fuelled by a 3000mAh battery with no fast charging support, it does not have a fingerprint scanner as well. The entry level smartphone with basic specifications by Samsung is available in Red, Blue and Black color options for $120, it is expected to launch in Pakistan soon with a price tag of Rs. 16,500.
