Samsung CEO DJ Koh said that Samsung is not only developing a smartphone with a foldable display, but is also racing to be the first to deliver it to the market. So we can assume that the device is going to hit the markets soon as Samsung's rival, Apple is reportedly working on a new foldable iPhone, which might be unveiled in 2020 as well.
DJ Koh also quoted that Samsung is focusing on developing innovations that will be genuinely accepted and liked by consumers. Further DJ Koh also states that foldable smartphone will not just be a one off concept. It will in fact be the beginning of the new series of smartphones that is touted to be called Galaxy F. He states that, We wouldnt have started the project if it was a going to be a one time thing. This means that we can expect the Galaxy F to be a lineup of devices that get updated new models on a yearly basis like the S series or the Note series.
Samsung initially aimed at launching the Galaxy F foldable phone in 2018 but has reportedly delayed it to 2019. There is a good chance that the device might just be unveiled at CES 2019 next year in January.
