In december 2018 Xiaomi Mi 9 was officially announced by Xiaomis Co founder and President Lin Bin confirming that the upcoming smartphone will come equipped with 48MP camera. He shared an image of the smartphone which hinted that the smartphone will come with a vertically stacked triple rear camera setup with an LED flash.
A new image of Xiaomi Mi 9 has been shared on Chinese social media platform by a reliable source. The device appears in the hands Xiaomis product director Wang Teng this time. The images show just the back of the phone but we can still notice some important details.
There have been rumors that the Mi 9 will come with three rear cameras and the image confirms while only two sensors are visible in the live photo. The cameras are arranged vertically just like the speculations. However, the LED flash sits outside the camera setup instead of placed in between the sensors.
The device is in blue color and has a glossy back finish. Fingerprint scanner is not visible and is expected to be placed under the display. At the bottom of the photo, there is a Mi logo and as Xiaomi is separated from the Redmi brand to focus only on high end devices.
According to previous reports, The phone will feature a design similar to the OnePlus 6T and will come with a 6.4 inch AMOLED notched display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and full HD+ resolution and will measure 155 x 75 x 7.6mm.
Xiaomi Mi 9 might come with Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 chipset coupled with 6GB of RAM. The smartphone will be fueled by a 3,500mAh battery with 32W fast charging support and run on Android 9 Pie. It is also said that the Xiaomi Mi 9 will come with 5G support
In terms of camera, leaks suggests that the Mi 9 would come with a 48MP Sony IMX586 primary sensor and a 12MP secondary sensor with a 3D ToF (Time of Flight) camera. Xiaomi Mi 9 is expected to get officially released in March this year.
