Xiaomi has emerged as a key smartphone player in the mid range and upper mid range markets with its over the top features, powerful hardware and impressive camera that too for a relatively low price than its competitors. MIUI is the custom Android skin developed by the company itself exclusively for Redmi and Mi smartphone devices. Currently the latest version of MIUI is the MIUI 11 released back in September followed by consecutive updates and features that arrives from time to time. Though MIUI 11 has not yet released for all the Xiaomi Devices and is arriving gradually to the older devices.
Now, the company has teased through its Weibo Handle that MIUI 12 is going to arrive in the 3rd quarter of 2020 on the occasion of MIUI’s 10th anniversary. The teaser poster published on the company’s official Weibo Page hints that the MIUI 12 will add new system fonts, icons and will focus on a minimal design approach for a seamless User Experience. The teased poster also shows a gradient effect on the digit 12 that suggests some new shades and colour schemes on the new MIUI version. However, the Xiaomi has not revealed any further details regarding the features and upgrades the new custom interface will bring.
The company will be releasing some more details in the coming few weeks about the new MIUI skin. Xiaomi will commemorate its 10th anniversary of its custom Android ROM by rolling out the MIUI 12. The upcoming version will be the 12th version of MIUI released in a span of ten years. It will be interesting to see what features the company adds in their upcoming version of MIUI as the hardware which the company is using gives a lot of potential to device and there is always a room for improvement on the Software front. The Chinese smartphone maker has recently launched the first 108MP Penta Camera equipped Mi Note 10 and Mi Note 10 Pro.
