Google Pixel 5 XL Render Leaked Online with a Unique Triple Rear Camera Setup and Matte Finnish Glass Back

The successor of Google Pixel 4 is not expected to launch any time soon, but rumours and speculations about the upcoming Google Pixel 5 are floating since the beginning of this year. Now we have CAD based renders of supposedly Google Pixel 5 XL. A YouTuber Jon Prosser has showcased the purported render of the Google Pixel 5 XL through a video posted on his YouTube channel. He states that the source of the leaked render is “extremely trustworthy,” and the YouTuber himself spent a reasonable time to verify it before making the render public.

The back texture of the alleged Pixel 5 XL looks similar to what we have seen on the Google Pixel 4, a soft matte glass back with a glossy camera module. However, the camera module showcased in the renders is very unique, it appears to have three sensors along with a wide-angle lens and LED flash. The YouTuber didn't share the front renders in the video but he claims that it is similar to other Pixel phones. Prosser says in his YouTube video that this is one of three prototype renders, hinting that there is a possibility the design may end up not being taken by Google for its next flagship Pixel phone.

On the other hand, he also claims the other two prototypes feature square camera set-ups much like the current Pixels. Therefore, the chances of this new design being picked by Google for the new Pixel phone are quite high. Google is hosting its I/O 2020 which is starting from May 12 this year, it is expected to unveil the Pixel 4a at the conference. The Pixel 4a would be affordable over the Pixel 5 and Pixel 5 XL flagships that are expected to launch at a hardware-focussed Google event scheduled to happen sometime in October.
