Infinix Note 5 Review: Android One with a massive 4500mAh battery

Infinix Note 5 has been announced by Infinix Mobility on 24th of June, 2018. The Note 5 is an update to last years Note 4 smartphone and one of the most anticipated smartphones from Infinix this year.

This years version of the Infinix Note series comes with AI capabilities and google Lens. It comes with Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR).

Lets find out more about the key specs and features of Infinix Note 5.

 

Design:

The Infinix Note 5 looks completely different from the previous Note series. The fingerprint scanner is now rear mounted and in a more flattering position than last years version. As expected it has a glossy back as well, this reflects light in the most subtle way.

The rear camera and LED flash are now in a horizontal position at the top left corner. The device has its SIM tray by the side along with power and volume buttons.

Display:

The trending 18:9 aspect ratio screen has finally found its way to the Note series and its not really surprising to say the least.

The phones built is 6 inch FHD+ IPS LCD capacitive touchscreen. This tall screen boasts of 1080 x 2160 pixels in resolution and 402 pixel per inch density, offering amazing display quality.

 

Hardware + Software:

MediaTeks powerful mid range chip Helio P23 MT6763T does the job under the hood  accompanied by an Octa Core processor which has a speed of 2.0GHz. While the Mali G71 MP2 graphics processor from ARM clocks at 770MHz. That gives amazing gaming experience and handles heavy apps and games smoothly.

The Note 5 has 3GB and 4GB of RAM options and a memory speed of 933MHz, this ensures fast multitasking of heavy apps. While the storage stands at 32GB and a higher version with 64GB, if you need more space, you can easily upgrade up to 128GB using a memory card. It runs on Android 8.1 Oreo (Android One).

 

Camera:

Infinix has done a brilliant job at the camera department of Infinix Note 5. The Infinix Note 5 houses a rear 12MP shooter with f/2.0 aperture and 1.25um pixel size. The 16MP selfie camera at the front has f/2.0 aperture as well and takes cute selfies with beautify technology.

The XOS Camera 3.0 packs a bunch of eye popping features for those brave enough to tweak this and that. If Infinix claims are anything to go by, its a smart AI powered camera that recognises your environment and chooses the best possible setting for that quality shot. The front camera has the same low light AI Selfie machine learning Infinix goes on about. You might notice an image suddenly brightening in low light along with other improvements before your shot.

The rear camera has 6 shooting modes, that is Normal, Beauty, Video, Professional, Panorama and Night modes. It also supports HDR mode and has 8 filters.

The selfie camera has AI Bokeh effects that are based on Infinixs deep learning Algorithm. This enables beautiful AI portraits using the front camera. With AI incorporated into the cameras, image quality is infinitely better and scenes are much more natural.

 

Battery:

The note 5 comes with a 4,500mAh battery that provides 3 days on average usage. The battery was built with 3A Fast Charge that boosts it from 0 to full capacity in less than 2 hours.

Price:

Infinix Note 5 is available in Pakistan for Rs. 27,999 and seems like a good deal to grab considering its features and specs.

Conclusion:
