There's been a buzz around the launch of Realme 5s for quite some time. The company officially announced the launch date earlier this month and was teasing the device in bits and pieces on their social media platforms till today. The smartphone has now been unveiled in Pakistan as per schedule on the 23rd of December 2019.
Realme 5s was officially presented in a glamourous launch event, and was unboxed live afterwards by the Marketing Director of Oppo sub brand 'Mr. Harvey'. A bunch of geeks from Pakistan's different tech platforms were present in the live unboxing of this latest version of Realme 5. The main selling point of the device as highlighted by the company is it's 48MP quad rear camera setup and bigger battery.
In terms of specifications, the Realme smartphone comes with a 6.5 inch IPS LCD display with 720 x 1600 Pixels resolution, protected by Gorilla Glass 3+. Under the hood, it packs a Qualcomm SDM665 Snapdragon 665 coupled with Adreno 610 GPU. The smartphone will offer 4GB RAM paired with 64GB/128GB of internal storage. It runs Color OS 6.0 based on Android 9.0 Pie.
The star feature of the device, is it's photography. Realme 5s comes equipped with a quad rear camera setup that comprises of 48MP wide angle lens, an 8MP ultra wide angle lens, a 2MP dedicated macro camera and a 2MP depth sensor accompanied with an LED flash. On the front, it boasts a 13MP wide angle camera for selfies housed inside the water drop notch.
Realme 5s is fuelled by a large 5,000mAh battery that comes with a 10W charging. There is a rear mounted fingerprint scanner for biometric security. The smartphone is teased in Crystal Blue and Crystal Red color options while the official price for 4GB + 128GB variant has been set at Rs. 29,999 in Pakistan. Realme also teased two other products which the company is going to release in January 2020.
The products showcased in the event are a Powerbank and a Wireless earphone called Buds Wireless. The OPPO sub brand calls them the anniversary surprise for Realme fans. It displayed both the upcoming accessories and announced their official prices, Realme Powerbank will cost Rs. 3,499 while the Realme Buds wireless will be available for Rs. 3,999 in Pakistan.
