Huawei has unveiled Mate 30 and Mate 30 Pro with some interesting specs. But the most interesting part of the device is its camera technology, Huawei Mate 30 Pro can shoot slo mo videos at 7,680 FPS which is simply amazing. No other smartphone is able to shoot at this frame rate. Most of the smartphones currently available in the market, including flagship devices are capped at 960 FPS video recording.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro has introduced slow motion video recording with 8 times more than what we usually see in the current flagships. Huawei’s Executive Bruce Lee decided to shed some light on explaining how the development team of Mate 30 Pro achieved this impressive feat.
According to Lee, the smartphone records 0.12 seconds of video, which then expands to 32 seconds of 30fps slow-mo video. This results in 945 frames captured at 720p resolution. The whole process requires the use of the entire chipset’s capabilities, which means ISP, CPU, GPU and NPU all works together to process the data.
However, the camera will have to drop the resolution down to 1280 x 720 to shoot at 7680 FPS but still it is quite impressive. The Mate 30 Pro camera can also shoot 12-hour long 4K timelapses, 960FPS slow-mo video at 1080p, 4K video at 60FPS, and allows the user to add real-time bokeh effects in the video too.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes equipped with a quad camera setup on the back that comprises of 40MP primary sensor, 40MP ultra wide angle lens, 8MP 3x telephoto lens and a 3D ToF camera accompanied by a dual LED dual tone flash. On the front it features 32MP wide angle lens and a 3D ToF camera.
