Folding phones will look like a thing of the past after looking at Xiaomi's Mi Mix Alpha. The Chinese technology giant has showcased an all screen smartphone with a display that surrounds the device only interrupted by the camera module which sports an 108MP sensor.
The original Mi Mix was the first truly bezel less smartphone. That was improved by its successors. But with the Mi Mix Alpha, Xiaomi is going to enter a new world of innovation with this amazing technology. It will be the first smartphone to feature surround display design with just a 2.15mm strip on the back to house the cameras.
The design of the smartphone has made possible the 180% screen to body ratio which has been never seen before in any other smartphone. With surround display, the status icons like network signal and battery charge level displayed on the side. While the pressure sensitive volume buttons will also appear on one side.
In terms of specifications, the smartphone will be powered by Snapdragon 855 coupled with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of internal storage. It will be fuelled by a 4,050 nano silicone cathode battery with 40W wired fast-charging support. The phone will have 5G capability.
In terms of camera, the smartphone has a triple camera setup, that consists of an 108MP Samsung ISOCELL Bright HMX camera sensor. The setup also includes 20MP ultrawide camera with a 117 degree FoV and a 12MP depth sensor. The camera sensors will be protected by sapphire glass protection.
Xiaomi Mi Mix Alpha will come with a bunch of AI features to detect the orientation of the smartphone and prevent unwanted touches by performing palm rejection with accuracy. The smartphone will be available in December with a price tag of $2,800 that roughly translates to Rs. 437,000 in PKR.
