HMD Global has launched three new Nokia smartphones, the Nokia 5.1, Nokia 3.1 and Nokia 2.1. While the 5.1 and 3.1 are a part of the Android One program, the lower end Nokia 2.1 comes with Android Go edition. The smartphones will be available to purchase from August 12th.
Nokia 5.1
The Nokia 5.1 is the top end version of all three and is priced at Rs 26,000 in Pakistan. The device features an all metal body that's made out of 6000 series aluminium with a soft finish on the back. The fingerprint reader is retained on the front bezel and sits below the tall display.Specifications of the Nokia 5.1 include a 5.5 inch FHD+ (2,160 x 1,080 pixels) display in an 18:9 display aspect ratio which is an upgrade from the previous 5.2 inch unit on the older Nokia 5 model. Inside, Nokia goes with a MediaTek Helio P18 SoC clocked at 2.0 GHz and is paired with 3 GB RAM and a paltry 32 GB of internal storage, given its price tag. The camera at the back gets an upgrade to a 16 MP unit that is accompanied by a dual LED flash while the front facing unit gets a 8 MP camera. The device will be available in copper, Tempered Blue and black.
Nokia 3.1
Following up Nokias most successful phone in its comeback, which was the Nokia 3, the Nokia 3.1 brings some much needed upgrades. The front now has a 5.2 inch HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a 720p resolution and 2.5D curved Gorilla Glass. Under the hood, it runs on the MediaTek MT6750 which is an octa core chip claimed to provide 50% better performance when compared to last years model. The rear camera is a 13MP unit while the front facing camera is rated at 8MP.The Nokia 3.1 will come with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of internal storage and will be sold for Rs. 20,000 in Pakistan with three color options, namely Blue Copper, Black Chrome and White Iron.
Nokia 2.1
The most affordable device launched by the brand is Nokia 2.1. The Nokia 2.1 runs Android Oreo (Go edition), and sports a 5.5 inch HD (720x1280 pixels) display with a 16:9 aspect ratio and anti FP coating. The phone is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 425 SoC, coupled with 1GB of LPDDR3 RAM. There is a 4000mAh battery under the hood that comes with a claimed 2 day battery life. This is an entry level device and is priced at Rs 12,000 in Pakistan.In terms of camera, the Nokia 2.1 bears a single 8 megapixel rear sensor with autofocus and LED flash. As for the front, the smartphone gets a 5 megapixel fixed focus selfie camera. Internal storage on the handset is capped at 8GB, expandable via microSD card (up to 128GB). The Nokia 2.1 will be available in three color options Blue Copper, Blue Silver, Grey Silver
