OnePlus has established itself as an exciting player in the high end smartphone segment. The flagship killers launched by the company provides some amazing features and top of the line specifications with competitive price tags. Last year's OnePlus 7 Pro and OnePlus 7T stands among the likes of Flagship Smartphones by Samsung and Huawei. This year is not going to be any different as OnePlus is all geared up to launch the OnePlus 8 series.
OnePlus has recently announced that it is going to unveil the OnePlus 8 series on April 14th. The series will consist of OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro while a device supposed to be OnePlus 8 Lite has now been called OnePlus Z, which will probably release alongside the OnePlus 8 lineup. The OnePlus 8 series will bring high end flagship level smartphones while the OnePlus Z will be a teared down OnePlus device with conservative price tag.
The OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro will bring a bezel less edge to edge display with a punch hole camera placed on the upper left corner of the screen. The OnePlus 8 will feature a Triple rear camera setup aligned vertically on the back while the Pro version is expected to bring 4 or 5 camera sensors on the rear. The confirmed colors in which these devices will come are Interstellar Glow, Onyx Black and Glacial Green.
OnePlus 8 will come with a 6.55 inches with 90Hz refresh rate. It will be powered by an Snapdragon 865 processor paired with 6GB/8GB/12GB of RAM and 128GB/256GB of internal storage. The rear camera setup on the device will sport 48MP, 16MP, and 12MP sensors while on the front there will be a 32MP shooter for selfies. It will be fuelled by a 4300mAh battery. The starting price for the base variant is rumoured to be $549.
The Pro variant will feature a 6.7 inches with 120Hz display. It will get power from an Snapdragon 865 processor coupled with 8GB or 12GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal storage. In terms of camera, OnePlus 8 Pro is rumoured to get 60MP, 16MP, 13MP or 2 48MP sensors plus 8MP and 5MP lenses while on the front there will be the same 32MP shooter. It will be fuelled by a 4500mAh cell and will cost you $799 for the base variant.
Another device earlier reported to be the OnePlus 8 Lite has now been called the OnePlus Z will also debut alongside the OnePlus 8 duo. It will feature a 6.4 inch 90Hz display and house MediaTek Dimensity 1000 under the hood. It will bring 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal storage. The triple camera setup on the back will consist of 48MP, 16MP, and 12MP. It is said to have a 16MP selfie shooter and will be fuelled by a 4000mAh battery. If rumours are to be believed then the OnePlus Z will cost $499.
