WhatsApp: Here's all the new upgrades and features

WhatsApp is the World's most popular instant messaging App that is primarily used by Android and iPhone users. The Facebook owned instant messaging platform thrives to improve and upgrade by introducing new features through updates. WhatsApp has recently introduced a new Beta update for iOS users. The 2.20.20.17 version of WhatsApp Beta brings heaps of new features and upgrades which are slated to be coming with the next stable update including:

Dark Mode: The new Beta version of WhatsApp brings a splash dark screen which is implemented by default. The dark mode uses dark hues instead of going completely black.

Updated Icons: Few icons have been redesigned and updated including the Forward icon, Group and Profile icons. The tab bar and chat bar icons are also updated to match with the Dark theme.

The features introduced in the latest Beta version are expected to be included in the official WhatsApp update 2.20.20 when released on the App Store. Users can join the WhatsApp Beta program on TestFlight but it is recommended to backup your chats and data to the iCloud before installing and upgrading to the Beta version. The Beta versions of Apps usually have some bugs which are removed in the Stable updates.

In a related news, WhatsApp beta for Android (2.20.13) also brings the dark mode feature. The current dark mode can either be manually enabled or you can have it follow system theme settings if using Android 10, WhatsApp will automatically go dark if system-wide dark mode is enabled while Android 9 users have to enable it manually. It is not expected to be available in the next stable Android WhatsApp update as the company is still working on it to make it better.
