Smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has unveiled the 6GB RAM plus 128GB storage variant of its Redmi Note 5 smartphone. Notably, the top end variant has been priced similar to the one with 6GB RAM and 64GB inbuilt storage.
The Redmi Note 5 price in China has been set at CNY 1,699 (roughly Rs. 32,000 in Pakistan) for the new 6GB RAM and 128GB storage variant. This is the exact same price tag at which the model with 6GB RAM and 64GB storage was launched back in March. The phone will be available in five colour options that are Black, Blue, Flame Red, Gold, and Rose Gold.
Featuring a 5.99 inch IPS LCD screen, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 provides a resolution of 2160 x 1080 in an 18:9 aspect ratio. For performance, this smartphone packs a Qualcomm Snapdragon 625 chipset made on the 14nm process and now it is paired with 6GB of RAM too which was 3GB and 4GB earlier.
As far as the storage is concerned, there are a total of three variants now. The base version features 32GB of internal memory, followed by a 64GB model and with the latest announcement, there is a 128GB version. This storage is easily expandable up to another 128GB via a microSD card.
The optics on the Redmi Note 5 Pro are backed by a dual camera setup at the back placed vertically. The setup comprises of a 12 megapixel primary sensor with f/2.2 aperture and a 5 megapixel sensor with f/2.0 aperture. The front camera sports a 13 megapixel selfie shooter. On the software front, the Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 runs Android 8.0 Oreo running the latest MIUI version on top. The Xiaomi Redmi Note 5 does very well in the battery department too as it features a gigantic 4000mAh battery.
