Android Q's latest beta is now available for OPPO Reno Standard Edition

OPPO has been coming up with innovative smartphone design and moving cameras to increase the display real estate and get rid of the notch trend. OPPO launched the Find X last year with a sliding module housing the front camera.

This year, OPPO introduced a unique sliding mechanism with the OPPO Reno series. The feature that ate up most of the spotlight is the shark fin camera pop up in the OPPO Reno. The series currently features two devices, OPPO Reno 10X Zoom edition and Snapdragon 855 and the OPPO Reno Standard edition with a Snapdragon 710 SoC.

At the official launch, OPPO promised that the two smartphones will be among the earliest devices from OPPO to get Android Q. Now, the OPPO Reno Standard edition has become eligible for the Android Q developer preview.

The Android Q beta for the OPPO Reno Standard edition boasts a stock Android appearance instead of OPPO’s custom Android skin ColorOS. OPPO recommends that this beta should be used developers only who want to test apps in the Android Q.

Users who want to try the update should first make a backup of their data of OPPO Reno Standard edition devices. Then download the Android Q firmware file and copy it to the smartphone. Reboot the smartphone in recovery mode by keeping the power and volume down buttons pressed while restarting. Then select your language and tap “Install from storage device” to continue the installation process.
