Samsung unveils an upgraded version of its flagship Galaxy Note series each year. A brand new iteration of its DeX platform also comes along this time with the new Galaxy Note 10 that allows the smartphone to power a full windowed desktop experience with complete support for an external mouse and keyboard.
The system will allow users to carry a single device to cater all their needs including texting, calling and work on Microsoft Word, manage emails and organise complicated spreadsheets.
We have already heard a number of rumours about the much anticipated next generation Galaxy Note 10. Now the latest information suggests that huge improvements will be coming to the Samsung DeX system.
Samsung is going to introduce the ability to cast your Android apps to a screen, keyboard and mouse wirelessly for the very first time. Which means Samsung Galaxy Note 10 users will no longer need to buy a DeX Dock, which costs around £140.
Samsung has applied for a patent with the European Union Intellectual Property Office by the brand name DeX Live, which the South Korean giant is expected to use in order to market the new capabilities of the smartphone.
The most powerful version of the Note 10 series will be coming in two variants for the first time in Samsung's history, and will boast at least 12GB of RAM along with the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or Samsung Exynos 9820.
Analysts claims that DeX Live will allow Galaxy Note 10 to provide a solid desktop experience without the need to carry around a DeX Dock. Samsung will still sell its DeX Dock for those who don't have a Bluetooth enabled mouse or keyboard or users who need to use a variety of ports available at the back of the accessory, including USB C, HDMI, Ethernet, and two USB A ports.
It's possible the redesigned version will include a 3.5mm headphone jack since that is being removed from the new Galaxy Note 10. Reports also suggests that Note 10 is going to ditch all physical buttons from the device and will offer small touch areas in the body instead.
