We have been hearing for a long time about an affordable version of the iPhone, a successor to Apple's iPhone SE. The phone was supposed to make the debut in March this year but rumors suggest that now it is coming on the 15th of April. The iPhone SE 2 has now appeared on the Chinese e-commerce website JD.com with iPhone 9 moniker.
The iPhone 9 is based on Apple iPhone 8 and houses the latest hardware and software. It will have a 4.7-inch Retina HD display with the Touch ID home button. It will be powered by the latest Apple A13 Bionic processor paired with 3GB of RAM and run the latest iOS 13. It will come in three different memory variants: 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.
Since the iPhone 9 or iPhone SE 2 is based on iPhone 8 so it is expected to feature a single camera on the back, rumored to be a 12MP sensor. Some of the renders that appeared online show that the 2020 iPhone SE might be around 0.5mm thicker than the iPhone 8, measuring in at 7.8mm thick.
The iPhone 9 will come in white, black and red color options, along with five different official cases including black silicone, white silicone, and red leather. It is reported to cost $399 for the base 64GB memory version. Apple is also said to be working on a larger version of iPhone 9 or SE 2 but there is no official word on it by the company yet.
In the related news, Apple's flagship lineup for this year, iPhone 12 series is going to debut in Fall 2020. While some other products by Apple are also scheduled to launch this year, including a new Apple TV, the Apple Watch 6, a new iPad and a new 13-inch MacBook Pro.
