After US blacklisted Huawei, the biggest issue for the company is the software. It is working hard its users a place to download Android apps after the loss of the Google Play Store, Huawei seems to focus on its in-house “App Gallery” market, and is also in talks with Aptoide as a replacement for Google Play Store.
Upcoming Huawei devices won’t have access to Google Play Services and other Google apps but the existing Apps may only be supported as long as Huawei does not update them. Huawei is also reportedly in talks with developers about bringing their apps to their store.
The Portugal based company "Aptoide" is currently negotiating with Huawei over building a premier App store for the Chinese smartphone giant. Aptoide currently hosts more than 900,000 apps with around 200 million users and has worked with other smartphone giants such as Oppo.
However it is currently unclear if Huawei replaces its pre-existing “App Gallery” app store with Aptoide. It will be interesting to see how users of Huawei smartphone react to this development and to what extent this step affects the smartphone sales of the company in coming future.
