Nokia announces a launch event in London, March 19

HMD Global will be conducting a product launch event in London, UK on March 19 and this is only opened to UK media due to the global travel restrictions. Nonetheless, the event will be live streamed and you can keep up to date on the latest product launches from HMD Global.

More likely HMD Global could launch Nokia 8.2, Nokia 5.2, Nokia 1.3, Nokia 400 4G and a new phone under the brand-new Original Series.

The event will take place on Thursday, March 19, 2020 at 9:30PM Pakistan Standard Time

HMD Global to Launch New Nokia Smartphones in an Event Scheduled for 19 of March in London

Like many other Smartphone makers, HMD Global was also geared up to launch a couple of Nokia branded phones at the Mobile World Congress 2020, but the event was called off due to the Corona Virus outbreak. The company has now announced that it is conducting a product launch event in London exclusively to the UK media due to the Global Travel restrictions amid Covid-19 Pandemic. The event will be live streamed for worldwide Nokia fans to keep them up to date with the latest products launch.

The 19 March event announcement was made by s, Chief Product Officer at HMD Global, Juho Sarvikas through a teaser video shared on Twitter. The video says in a James Bond movie title manner, 'No Time To Wait' and further states that, We have something very special lined up for you. The caption hints at the launch of multiple smartphones, though not announced by HMD Global but according to the sources we can expect to see Nokia 8.2 5G, Nokia 5.2, Nokia 1.3 and Nokia 400 4G at the event.

Nokia 8.2 5G

The Nokia 8.2 5G will be the successor of Nokia 8.1 and it will come with 5G connectivity thus making it the first Nokia branded 5G Smartphone. It is reported to pack a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765 processor with three different RAM and storage options 4GB/64GB, 6GB/128GB, and 8GB/256GB. Reports suggest that Nokia 8.2 5G will feature full screen display and a pop up selfie camera module with 32MP sensor. It will run the latest Android 10 and will feature a 64MP primary camera in its quad rear camera setup.

Nokia 5.2

The device will be a direct successor to the Nokia 5.1 launched back in 2018. The smartphone is going to come with a 6.2 inch display, a water drop notch housing an 8MP sensor for selfies and will feature a dual camera setup on the back. The Nokia 5.2 will be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC processor paired with up to 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage. It will be fuelled by a 3500mAh battery.

Nokia 1.3

An entry level smartphone called Nokia 1.3 is also rumoured to be unveiled on the upcoming March 19 event. The basic entry level smartphone is reported to be powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 215 SoC paired with 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage. It will run Android One and may feature a 13MP camera on the back.

Nokia 400

According to the information available, Nokia 400 is going to be an interesting device. Reports suggest that Nokia 400 will be a feature phone running Android and providing 4G connectivity. Google was reported to be working on a toned down version of Android to incorporate the OS in feature phones as well to take on the current most popular feature phones operating system KaiOS. The phone will come preloaded with apps such as YouTube, Gmail, Google Search, and Google Chrome.
