Xiaomi sub brand Redmi has announced on their official Weibo handle that the upcoming Redmi K30 smartphone will come equipped with a 64MP Sony IMX686 sensor, the camera will bring new photography experience. Official posters released by Redmi highlights the upgraded camera features and some sample pictures to backup their claim.
A render of the device shows the Redmi K30 in deep sea blue gradient finish on the back. A listing emerged on TENAA revealing a bunch of key specs of the smartphone. The Redmi phone carrying model number M1912G7BC will have a 6.67-inch full HD+ display with 1080 x 2400 pixels resolution. It will be powered by an octa-core SoC clocked at 2.2GHz.
The phone will come in 6GB, 8GB, and 12GB RAM options along with 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB of internal storage. TENAA listing suggests that the Redmi K30 would measure 165.3x76.6x8.81mm and weighs 208 grams. It will run Android 10 and will be fuelled by a 4,400mAh battery with 30W fast charging support.
In terms of camera and photography, the quad camera setup on the back will feature a 64MP Sony IMX668 sensor paired with a secondary sensor accompanied with a 2cm macro lens and a tertiary sensor with 120-degree ultra-wide-angle lens. The Redmi K30 is also teased to include a 20-megapixel artificial intelligence (AI) powered selfie sensor in its dual front camera setup.
Redmi K30 launch is scheduled for official launch in China December 10th this year. The company is also going to launch Redmibook 13 and several other smart home devices along with Redmi K30. The device will be available in 4G and 5G variants with six different color options.
