Samsung Galaxy S10 has still managed to mostly remain a mystery at this point. Latest leak suggests that Samsung Galaxy S10 will ditch the IRS fingerprint Scanner and will boast an Ultrasonic one instead. This could utilize up to 30% of the display to read user digits.
Ultrasonic fingerprint readers are more accurate and comparatively faster as sound can map an in depth 3D map of your fingerprint while optical sensors can only make a 2D scan of your fingerprints. Dusty and Sweaty fingers are a further nuisance for optical sensors as it can not read the fingerprint.
The new technology is Samsung exclusive only and may help integrate Qualcomms third generation ultrasonic in display fingerprint sensor. This sensor is touted to be much faster than the current optical solutions in the market, and it has a larger recognition area as well. User can tap anywhere in the bottom third area of the screen to unlock the device.
Moreover, Samsung is also widely expected to remove the headphone jack from the Galaxy S10 to accommodate all its technological innovations. Till now Galaxy S10 does look like arguably the most radical upgrade in Samsungs smartphone history.
