Samsung Galaxy S20+ Latest Leak Confirms 120Hz Display, Under Display Ultrasonic Fingerprint Scanner and 4,500mAh Battery

It has become clear from the incoming reports and leaks that the much anticipated Galaxy S11 series from Samsung is now going to be launched as Galaxy S20 series. From what we know so far, it seems like there are going to be three versions of Samsung Galaxy S20 series namely: Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra. Real life photos leaked few days ago confirms the Galaxy S20+ name. Now the latest leak confirm some more details about the Galaxy S20+ display and the in-display fingerprint scanner.

The display on the Galaxy S20+ comes in at 3200 x 1440 pixels, with taller 20:9 aspect ratio. Another interesting aspect of Galaxy S20+ display is the 120Hz refresh rate. A picture of the device with the 120Hz settings toggle was leaked confirming that the phone does support the feature. The S20 series will be the first from Samsung to support 120Hz display, Samsung also manufactures OLED panels for other Smartphone makers which suggests that we can see the higher refresh rate in a number of other phones soon.

The Galaxy S20+ will also feature an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner. While it is not confirmed that it is going to use Qualcomm’s new 3D Sonic Max ultrasonic fingerprint scanner or will opt for something else. The confirmation of an ultrasonic fingerprint scanner comes from the live images leaked online because if it has an optical fingerprint scanner, the scanner area on the display is lit up brightly, while an ultrasonic sensor needs no light for functioning and the Galaxy S20+ does not light up the fingerprint area which confirms the ultrasonic sensor.

The Galaxy S20+ is also the first S-series flagship without a headphone jack. Sources suggests that it will ship with a USB Type C port. The smartphone will come with a Super fast charger in the box with 25W fast charging. There is going to be a rated battery capacity of 4,500 mAh and a typical capacity of 4,370 mAh. Other confirmed specs include 12GB of RAM and 128GB of onboard storage. The Galaxy S20 series is slated to be officially unveiled along with the Galaxy Z Flip at Samsung Unpacked on February 11th.
