Skype for Android bug automatically answers incoming calls posing a serious privacy threat, Microsoft working on fix!

There was a time when Skype used to be the one and only way for people to video call one another and it brought about the telecom revolution. But then time changed, new and better applications were launched. Now WhatsApp and Messenger are the leading forces in this regard.

It's not that Skype has totally vanished from the scene, it has retained a majority of users and just got down from the position. Now, a recent security issue has been revealed that could just make people completely unwilling to use Skype.

Skype calls on Android phones are being automatically answered without the recipient's knowledge. Several Skype users have complained in online forums that incoming calls on the Android app are being answered without their approval.

Skype's Android app has a feature that allows incoming calls to be automatically picked up, users can turn it on in the settings, it is designed as an accessibility option for people that have trouble answering their phones.

However, the bug in the system is causing the app to involuntarily answer incoming calls even while the feature is not activated. While the good news is, Microsoft is working on to fix the problem and it may release an update to the current Skype version within few days.
