Huawei is undisputedly world's number 1 telecom supplier and worlds 2nd largest smartphone manufacturer. The Trump administration banned US companies to do business with Huawei in February, after a sudden backlash from US tech giants Trump administration lifted the ban for 90 days in order to give time to the US companies to consider alternate options and cut ties with the Chinese smartphone makers.
After the first 90 days delay ended in August, the US government granted another 90 days extension to the Tech companies to continue business with Huawei. Now as the second extension is coming to an end, the latest reports confirm that Trump Administration has once again given a 90 days extension that will end in february 2020.
The Huawei representatives says that this extension won't have a substantial impact on its business and complains that it has been treated unfairly. The newest delay in ban comes amid the continuing trade negotiations between the US and China. Huawei claims that it is able to manufacture hardware without US tech companies assistance.
As far as the smartphone business of Huawei is concerned, Huawei has developed its own Operating System called Harmony OS for future, when it will not be able to install Android in it. The Chinese tech company has already had to ship the Mate 30 Pro in Europe without the Google apps. It will be interesting to see what happens when the US puts the ban in place and this temporary extension ends.
