Samsung has recently launched the much awaited Galaxy Fold smartphone in several markets after overcoming many hurdles. The device was launched back in February but after getting backlash from the early reviewers about faulty displays Samsung pulled the device back and launched it after fixing the problems.
Now Samsung is working on another foldable device, this type a flip smartphone that looks alot like the upcoming Motorola Razr 2019. The new smartphone that Samsung is working on flips vertically similar to the flip phones that were popular in early 2000's. The phone will not have two panels with hinges in the middle.
The flexible display of the new Galaxy smartphone will have a single touch screen from top to bottom and fold like a wallet. The company's Twitter account described the phone as "a brand new form factor Samsung is exploring for the foldable category of devices". There are probably a lot of reasons why Samsung chose to go with a clam-shell shape for the Fold.
The release date and price of the new foldable device has not been revealed yet. But industry insiders suggests that the device will cost less than the already available Samsung Galaxy Fold that comes with a price tag of $1,900. Samsung is expected to make some new gadget announcements in February or March next year.
