Xiaomi Mi Play has officially been launched in China. The new smartphone is the first model in the company's Play series. The phone comes with water drop notched display, AI dual cameras and more.
In terms of design, the smartphone sports a gradient finish at the back on top of the glass like finish. Mi Play features a 5.84 inch Full HD+ 1080 x 2280 pixels display with thick bezels that remind us of the Pocophone F1. The phone is available in two gradient color options, Dream Blue and Twilight Gold.
The phone is powered by the Octa Core MediaTek Helio P35 12nm SoC clocked at 2.3GHz and paired with CPU/GPU Turbo technology coupled with 4GB of RAM. It has 64GB of storage capacity and can be expanded upto 256GB via an external Sdcard.
Talking about the optics, there is a dual rear camera setup comprises of a 12MP primary camera with f/2.2 aperture, LED Flash, and a 2MP secondary camera. While on the front, there is an 8MP camera for selfies. There is also a fingerprint sensor placed on the back.
Xiaomi Mi Play runs Android 8.1 Oreo with MIUI 10 on top. The handset packs a 3000mAh battery to keep the phone powered on. There is currently no update about the international availability of the Xiaomi Mi Play.
